The Schmidt Performance Shot Lab is an evidence-based shooting clinic designed to help players become better shooters by becoming better decision-makers.
Instead of standing in lines and repeating the same shot, athletes train in situations that look and feel like basketball-reading defenders, finding space, creating advantages, adapting their shot, and executing under pressure.
Our goal is simple: develop shooting skills that transfer to real games.

Players will learn how to recognize and create shooting opportunities through:
Defensive positioning & space recognition
Relocation
Drift & lift
Cutting into shots
Transition spacing
Finding open windows

GET YOUR SHOT OFF
Players will develop the ability to create and execute shots before the defense can recover:
Quicker preparation
Faster catch-to-release
Footwork variability
Shooting off movement
Creating separation
Shot fakes
Side steps & pull-ups
Shooting over length

SEARCH -> DECIDE -> EXECUTE
Players won't simply be told when to shoot. They'll learn to read the defense and make decisions.
Defender gives space -> Shoot
Defender runs you off -> Drive
Help commits -> Pass
Advantage continues -> Relocate

ADAPT TO THE GAME
Games are unpredictable. Shooting practice should be too.
Rather than prescribing one identical technique, players will solve shooting problems involving different:
Catches & speeds
Footwork
Angles & distances
Defensive coverages
Contested & uncontested shots
Contact & fatigue
Transition situations
Broken plays
The goal is to develop adaptable shooters who can find solutions in the game.
TRAINING THAT TRANSFERS
COMPETE UNDER PRESSURE
Players will put their shooting and decision-making to the test through competitive, game-like situations with defenders, consequences, pressure, and scoring.
Shot Lab isn't about creating perfect practice shooters.
It's about developing confident, adaptable basketball players who can find, create, and make shots when the game gets messy.
